The film tells the story of a grounded American pilot during the Second World War who learns about the noble spirit of the Chinese poeple when he is rescued by the communist-led Chinese army after an emergency landing near the Great Wall. Review :

Very lousy attempt to mix romance and love with war

To be honest, even the war-era love and romance of political propaganda was much better than the one in this film. The film crew does not appear to be able to distinguish sympathy from love and attempt to mix the two by first sympathy/curiosity, and then turned to admiration/love is totally unrealistic. Maybe it was not the original intention but the film definitely gives such lousy impression.
