worth watching
although this film was to be done in one long 'epic' feature film, it was instead broken down to many films. Looking upon this film and seeing it was made in Thailand, the first thing going through my head was that this film may be like the terribly disgusting Ong Bak film that lacked everything but the story. I was wrong. This film doesn't lack much but certainly deserve the rating it has on IMDb. Because it was broken down to fit in the time schedule, we don't know how many days have passed where we see lots of scenes in daylight and it seems like one whole day but it isn't. It started off slowly but gradually get into it. nevertheless an amazing film with a lot of good scenes and definitely brings us into the story for the next film.

Will enamour kids and enthrall adults
With a somewhat unwieldy tile and the lack of the winning Pixar storyline that has dominated the Oscars for a decade, Dreamworks animations latest could have been a clunker. Not only is How to Train Your Dragon the best film of the year so far, but it even eclipses the quality of last years duel academy award winner Up.
The latest 3-D film to fly into theatres in so many weeks is also the best of its format (story wise), making Burton's overblown misfire Alice in Wonderland look even more pitiful. Dragon will no doubt enamour kids (excuse the cliché) of all ages while keeping parents not only awake but equally enthralled. This movie is sure to tug the hearts of anyone who has ever loved a pet and will undoubtedly draw tears from those who are so inclined.
The texture that can be created from today's CG technology never ceases to amaze. Consider a beautiful tracking shot of a downed dragon where the twisted wing that protrudes towards the screen is actually out of focus, as if you yourself were staring awestruck at the giant lizard that lay before you in real, tangible life. I did not have the pleasure to viewing How to Train Your Dragon in 3-D but I have heard great things and even without having paid a surcharge the film does in no way suffer as a result. The narrative, visuals, writing and voicework is ample reason to seek out Dragon and frankly is the real heart of the movie anyways.
On the Island of Berk, the Viking community that lives there does not fear a rival tribe, the weather or disease but rather a much more toothy threat: dragons. Nightly raids by the winged beasts have forged a great hatred upon the tribe and led by the aptly named Stoik the Vast (Gerard Butler) they wage war with the intent to rid themselves of dragons once and for all. This is not a feeling shared by Stoik's scrawny son Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) who favours non-lethal tactics as much as he does blacksmithing. Much to Hiccup's surprise, during one of the aforementioned raids he is able to down a dragon with one of his contraptions. Intent on proving his manhood to Stoik, he seeks out to find the dragon know as a Night Fury but finds himself unable to slay his scaly foe. So begins an unlikely and forbidden friendship with the later named Toothless that follows a time-tested but absolutely rewarding arc that is as enthralling as it is touching.
Joining Butler and Baruchel, both of whom give excellent performances (with Butler recapturing some of his 300 mojo), are the likes of Craig Fergusson as the Viking blacksmith, America Ferrera as the feisty object of Hiccup's affections and a whole slice of the Apatow gang including Kristen Wiig, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jonah Hill as other young warriors. Much like WALL-E, Toothless exhibits oodles of personality and is endlessly endearing. To achieve this level of depth is perhaps even more impressive due to the fact that he never utters a word and must emote through non-verbal means.
Along with Kung Fu Panda this movie represents the highest ilk of the Dreamworks repertoire and that is not a backhanded compliment by any means. Like Panda, there are thrilling and well choreographed action sequences to compliment the heart, and plenty of humour to keep this from becoming too much of a dramatic slog for younger theatre goers. Teenager or adult, fan or animation or not if you like truly good cinema, you will not be unsatisfied by How to Train Your Dragon.

Multiple Direction Disorder
The premise of this movie was good. A girl suffering from multiple personality disorder with a hidden personality threatening to destroy it all, along the way came a psychic who wanted to help, but the psychic herself needed help.
Unfortunately, in the middle of the movie, it changed direction and drifted into spirits. So, the audience was left with an empty shell of an enticing plotline. It became your standard ghost story.
The movie also failed to delve enough into the girl or the psychic. The audience was left wondering - who exactly was the psychic? What was her background? How came she did not remember her name? Each scene just raised new questions, instead of answering previous questions.
I was surprised to see the low rating for the movie. This movie is a good comedy entertainer.
Lal lives with his Uncle and his cousin's five kids in their house. The kids are very naughty and cause problems. Lal is also engaged. In this situation Shobhana his old sweetheart from college comes with a kid she claims is his.
This movie has all the ingredients of an entertainer like comedy , suspense and drama which priyadarshan has weaved together.The highlight of this movie is the performances by Lal, Shobhana and thilakan. Shobhana in particular has acted very well. The chemistry between Lal and Shobhana is good.The kids also act very well and the comedy track involving them is enjoyable.Another thing which strikes in the movie is the music which is also good.
One of the reason for the low rating could be the ending which some people may find disappointing.
Overall i would recommend this movie for watching and rate the movie 9/10

Took Swedish movies to a new height.
Often when I watch Swedish movies I think the acting is too much. When I saw this movie I didn't think of it as a Swedish movie anymore. The acting was wonderful!
The writers have done a really good job gathering all the information and all the letters that the film writers grandmother (of something similar) sent to her family during her time at the institution (this is on the DVD as extras).
The storyline is a awful story that is based on true events, events that we in the Swedish school system puts a blind fold on so that we only shall see how neutral we are all the time.
I think this is a perfect history lesson that every teenager really should see.

Great adaptation of the classic tale!
Le petit poucet is a great french adaptation of the classic tale. What really makes it stand out are the beautiful backgrounds and sceneries. Each scene is like a painting. This makes watching 'Le petit poucet' like reading the fairy tale accompanied by beautiful drawings. But there's more: this movie actually knows what a fairy tale originally was: a pretty dark and scary story for adults. This makes that 'Le petit poucet' isn't really suited for young children but grown-ups like myself who have read the story as a child will be excited and enchanted when they see how director Olivier Dahan has adapted it for the big screen. A must-see for fans of fairy tales and fantasy films alike!

A small budget production by local television personality Ricky Mendoza from Eagle Pass, Texas, a bustling border town on the banks of the Rio Grande in South Texas, "Escape" is a working man's version of "El Mariachi" or "Como Agua Para Chocolate". Highlighting a real-life imprisonment in Coahuila, the filmmaker shows vision and authenticity of a region of Northern Mexico and the corruption that pervades the country. Mendoza has teamed up with composer Carlos Coral to give "Escape" a cultural flair all its own. The colloquial dialect exemplified in the Spanish dialogue is interesting and the character actors (such as Mosqueda) are almost as good as "Desperado" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico".

How Real ?
Alright . I have just finished watching the movie, and I am glad we finally got something showing the real thing of whats going on in Iraq. Can I say the movie is real ? No, because in fact its showing the tiniest part of reality; as Iraqis are not only tortured as the movie shows, they are killed tens of times while they're alive, not to mention the crimes of chastity, which Muslims protect most, through the liberation troops' sexual assaults of Iraqi girls, particularly before their fathers or brothers, or husbands.
One thing is important, and the movie suffers because of it, is not having subtitles. Indeed British English is hardly understandably, and the more important is the Arabic spoken by locals, as the Arabic speeches during the movie are very important to understand what is going on, and basically, you would not recognize how much the locals involved in the movie's plot suffer, unless you understand what is said by them.

Interesting artistic film...
Driving with My Wife's Lover is about a man named Tae Han who discovers his wife is cheating on him. He finds out the man is a taxi driver named Park, and decides to go out to Seoul where he jumps in his cab and asks to be taken back to his seaside town. It's a long drive, and Park (unaware of who Tae Han is) immediately takes a liking to the sullen Tae Han, referring to him as Brother. The cab breaks down, and while waiting for the tow truck the men play badminton, eat watermelons, and go skinny dipping. After Park drops Tae Han off in town he turns around and heads to Tae Han's house where he proceeds to sleep with his wife. Tae Han, meanwhile, steals Park's cab and heads back to Seoul, to the restaurant that Park's wife works at.
This is the type of movie that you would find playing in one of those art theaters. There are some off the wall scenes (like hundreds of watermelons suddenly rolling down a hill) and heavy symbolism (the affair happens to take place during a scorching heat wave). But I really enjoyed how all the characters were so different from each other, and reacted to the events in different ways.
Park the cab driver was flippant about his affairs, proclaiming that monogamy is unrealistic, and love just happens between two people and it can't be helped. Tae Han on the other hand is sullen, miserable, wrapped in jealously and uncertainty. He knows this is a situation he has to deal with, but uncertain on how to approach it.
Park's wife (I forget her name) is probably the most likable yet sympathetic of all the characters. She is a brazen girl, boldly flashing her naked body in the middle of the street as her husband drives away, but quickly falls apart when she realizes that her husband is cheating on her. In contrast, Tae Han's wife is shown to be somewhat selfish, insecure and clingy. When Park discovers that his cab has been stolen all she can say is: "Do you love me or the cab?" Aas a whole, Driving my Wife's Lover is much better than I expected it to be. The actors are wonderful, and the music particularly good. It's almost like it's mocking the situation the two couples are in. My only problem is the ending. It was so sudden, I wasn't sure what exactly was resolved in the ending scene. Still, I would highly recommend it.

Entertaining, well written, well performed. Great Spanish movie
I truly enjoyed watching Casual Day. Great acting, great script and good rhythm, which makes it a very nice watch. The story is centered upon a group of people working for a large multinational company who go for a company week-end away. It describes the ambitions, miseries and injustices that affect the workers of the company from many different perspectives. The negative side is that it is maybe excessively pessimistic, at the risk of being bias. However, one can imagine that there are companies where people are treated unfairly, with little humanity and where people feel deeply miserable but nonetheless trapped. On the good side, actors are at their very best and the plot is truly interesting.

Farmiga Shines in a Solid Drama
Vera Farmiga plays an affluent woman whose life and marriage is unraveling. She and her Korean husband have been trying without success to get pregnant. Her suicidal husband has given up on the idea, but it's become an obsession with her, the one thing that will fix everything that's broken. She makes a proposition to a young Korean immigrant -- she will pay him $300 in cash every time they have sex, with an additional $30,000 in cash if she conceives.
I had my doubts before watching this film that the screenplay would be able to make this premise plausible, but it does. It sets things up in such a way that they play out honestly, without feeling overly manipulated by the hands of a screenwriter or director. It helps tremendously that Farmiga gives such a good performance -- you have to really understand her character if the movie is going to make any sense, and we do, thanks to Farmiga's commitment to the role.
Though ambiguous, the ending suggests a happy ending that DID feel implausible to me. But the rest of the movie is such a downer that I actually didn't mind it, because I just wanted something positive to happen to this poor woman.
